Corey Peterson
I was raised here. Went to school here, then music school here. My first professional gig was on saxophone, and I played it while I was still in high school, in this town. I have moved away a couple of times for tours and work, but I always end up back. St. Augustine is home base.
I have been working weddings in and around St. Augustine since the early 2000s, first as a saxophone player sitting in with bands, later behind the DJ booth. Well over a thousand of them by now. That is a long time to learn one town. Treasury on the Plaza, Lightner Museum, River House, Fountain of Youth, Tringali Barn, Kelly Farm, 9 Aviles - I know where the sound gets tricky, where to park when downtown is chaos, which coordinators run a tight ship. That stuff matters when it is your day and you do not need surprises.
Every DJ and musician here gets it - no egos, just people who genuinely love making your day perfect. We treat every wedding like it's the only one on the calendar. Your vision, not ours. Live saxophone available with every package. Tell us about your wedding and we'll be in touch within 24 hours.

Roughly seven in ten St. Augustine weddings are destination weddings, with couples and guests traveling in from out of state. COS Celebrations founder Corey Peterson was raised in St. Augustine and has worked weddings here since the early 2000s, first as a saxophonist and later as a DJ, which is why COS plans around local realities like downtown parking, summer heat and rain, and the Nights of Lights crowds.
A St. Augustine wedding day with COS - from the bayfront to the dance floor
Words can't describe how special Corey and his team made my husband's and my wedding day at the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine. Being from Boston, this was a destination wedding, and Corey and Kyle put us at ease every step of the way. Any questions we had were answered right away and very thoughtfully, which truly gave us peace of mind.
Corey made every single moment so special for us - he even played the sax during our entrance song, and it got the crowd going wild! We will truly never forget these moments and can't recommend COS Celebrations enough. Corey is hands down the best DJ we could have ever asked for. He read the room perfectly, kept the energy high all night, and had every single guest on the dance floor.
We were lucky enough to book COS Celebrations and DJ Corey for our NYE wedding at the end of 2023. Corey immediately came across as an organized and reliable professional that knows how to have fun! He was extremely communicative during the days leading up to and during our wedding, always making sure we were taken care of and having a great time.
We opted to add the Saxophone add on and it was INCREDIBLE. Everyone loved it and really got the party pumped up for NYE. We also booked his extra lighting, cold sparklers and photobooth - everything was so great and really completed the event. I could not recommend Corey enough; he made our day so special and provided a top-notch service.
Corey is the best. It was an incredible night and the dance floor was never empty. He is genuine and a great person to work with. We trusted him wholeheartedly to put together a song list that matched with who we are as people. The saxophone during Cocktail Hour was exceptional and he was able to work in a few Billy Joel songs to keep the Long Islanders in attendance happy.
He was organized and utilized an app that allowed us to easily fill in song requests, first dance songs, last dance songs, etc. so that the night was all about what we wanted. We also loved the personalization for the photobooth background that Kyle put together for us featuring the St. Augustine Lighthouse. You can't go wrong with COS Celebrations.
St. Augustine couples choose COS Celebrations because it is the only local DJ company that pairs professional DJs with live saxophone performers. COS is headquartered in St. Augustine with zero travel fees, has performed at every major venue in town, and maintains preferred vendor status at four of the city's top wedding venues.
COS Celebrations is headquartered in St. Augustine - this isn't a satellite market we drive to. We know which venues have tricky load-in procedures, which historic buildings require careful sound management, and where to find parking on busy downtown weekends. That local knowledge shows.
We're the preferred DJ vendor at Treasury on the Plaza, Lightner Museum, The White Room, and River House. These venues trust us with their couples because we've proven ourselves hundreds of times over.
Imagine your first dance with live saxophone - not a recording, but a musician reading the room and playing to the moment. We pioneered this in St. Augustine, and it's the thing guests talk about for years.
Unlike DJs who drive from Jacksonville or Orlando and tack on travel charges, we're already here. St. Augustine, St. Augustine Beach, Vilano, Anastasia Island - it's all home turf with zero extra fees.
We've performed at virtually every wedding venue in St. Augustine and St. Johns County. Here are a few favorites:
Couples ask me all the time which venue is the best one. I never answer that, and it is not me dodging the question. I am a preferred vendor at several of them and I have watched every one of them throw a beautiful wedding. Best is the wrong question. The right one is which one fits you.
Broadly, St. Augustine splits two ways:
Places like Fountain of Youth give you that old-school Florida feel - open air, water views, big sky. Then there are the barn venues just outside downtown, like Tringali Barn and Kelly Farm, where you get room to spread out and your own parking.
At Treasury on the Plaza or Lightner Museum, you are not decorating a room to look historic. You are getting married inside actual history, in the middle of the oldest city in the country.
St. Augustine wedding venues fall into two broad categories. Outdoor waterfront and barn venues such as Fountain of Youth, Tringali Barn, and Kelly Farm Events offer open-air ceremonies and on-site parking. Historic indoor venues such as Treasury on the Plaza and Lightner Museum place the wedding inside preserved historic architecture in downtown St. Augustine. Neither category is better than the other, and the choice depends on the couple.
This is the single piece of advice I give most often, and the one couples skip most often. If your reception is going to be outside, price a tent before you book anything else - before the planner, before entertainment, before the photographer.
Most people assume a tent is rain insurance. It is, but that is not the main reason.
Heat is the bigger problem, because heat takes out the gear that runs your entire day. Your toasts, your speeches, your first dance, the whole reception runs through equipment sitting in direct sun. I have watched couples come down from up north and book a July or August wedding fully outdoors with no cover, because nobody told them what a Florida afternoon actually does.
And in summer here, it is going to rain. Not might. So the real question is not whether you will need a Plan B, it is whether you can live with the one your venue has.
Go look at Plan B before you sign anything. A good one is either an indoor space that can take the ceremony, or a tent big enough that you are not walking through rain to get down the aisle. Stand in it. If you would be genuinely okay getting married there, book the venue. If you would be disappointed, keep looking.
Get that settled up front and the weather stops being a threat. It rains, you move, your team still makes it magical. Nobody remembers the forecast.
Couples planning an outdoor wedding reception in St. Augustine, Florida should budget for a tent before booking vendors. Rain is likely during the Florida summer, and direct heat can disable the sound and lighting equipment that runs the reception, including toasts, speeches, and the first dance. COS Celebrations advises couples to inspect the venue's backup plan in person and confirm they would be satisfied with it before signing a venue contract.
About seven out of ten of our couples are planning from somewhere else. That changes what you need to know.
The two most popular are Embassy Suites out on the beach and Casa Monica right downtown. There is also a whole string of hotels along the bayfront, plus the Renaissance across from Ripley's.
Fountain of Youth and River House have their own parking, and so do the barn venues. Downtown is a different story. For Treasury, Lightner, or The White Room, get a shuttle lined up. It is the cheapest problem you will ever solve in advance.
From November into January the whole town lights up and fills with visitors. Opening and closing weekends are the extreme - think Fourth of July crowds. It is beautiful, and it is worth planning around rather than being surprised by.
Breakfast on the beach, lunch downtown, a boat ride or a horse carriage in the afternoon, and the whole wedding party walking to a bar afterward. That is the reason to get married here. You cannot do that in most places.
Here is one version, and it is a common one.
Your ceremony is at Villa Blanca at The White Room. It ends, and you walk downstairs with your new husband or wife. You can cross the street to the marina for photos, or walk down to the plaza, while your guests move into cocktail hour or straight into the grand ballroom.
Introductions happen right there, into the dance floor, into your first dance with everyone you love watching. Dinner. Speeches. Cut the cake. Then we open the dance set and go.
Near the end we send your guests downstairs to the alley to line up for your exit with cold sparks or bubbles. While they are all down there getting ready, you get one last private dance, just the two of you in the room.
Then you make your exit - and the entire crew walks straight down the street into downtown St. Augustine for nightcaps.

The Nights of Lights runs from November into January and brings very heavy visitor traffic to downtown St. Augustine, with the opening and closing weekends being the most crowded of all. Couples planning a wedding during that window should arrange shuttles and give guests extra travel time, particularly for downtown venues. Spring and fall weekends are also busy, and popular St. Augustine venues are often booked twelve to eighteen months ahead.
It depends on the venue. Fountain of Youth and River House have their own parking, as do barn venues outside downtown such as Tringali Barn and Kelly Farm Events. Downtown venues including Treasury on the Plaza, Lightner Museum, and The White Room rely on public parking, which can be difficult on busy weekends. For those venues, arranging a guest shuttle is the simplest fix.
The two most popular choices are Embassy Suites at St. Augustine Beach and Casa Monica in the heart of downtown. There is also a row of hotels along the bayfront and the Renaissance near Ripley's. Roughly seventy percent of St. Augustine weddings involve couples or guests traveling from out of state, so most venues and planners in town are used to coordinating room blocks.
If your reception is outdoors, budget for a tent before booking other vendors. Rain is likely during the Florida summer, and direct heat can disable the sound and lighting equipment that runs the reception, including toasts, speeches, and the first dance. Even on a clear day a tent looks good, so it is rarely wasted money. Inspect the venue's backup plan in person before signing the contract and confirm you would genuinely be happy getting married in it.
Sooner than most couples think. Waiting until three to six months out sharply limits which DJs, planners, and photographers are still available for your date, especially for spring and fall Saturdays. COS Celebrations regularly books twelve months or more ahead for St. Augustine weddings.
Based in St. Augustine, we serve the entire First Coast with no travel fees.
