Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach is the only true oceanfront wedding venue in St. Augustine. Not near the beach — on it. The resort sits on 5.7 acres between Anastasia State Park and the St. Augustine Pier, with 535 feet of ocean frontage and a Sunrise Lawn ceremony space that ends in an infinity edge over the Atlantic. Nothing will ever get built to the north of it because the state park is protected. It's the reason I keep finding myself back at this venue.

What I've learned working weddings here: the 10pm outdoor music curfew is real, and it's the thing most out-of-town couples don't plan around. The venue is a AAA Four Diamond resort with 217 suites and a full-time wedding coordinator (ask for Sierra Popp — couples name-drop her in reviews for a reason), so the day-of logistics run tight. But that outdoor curfew means your dance floor peak has to hit between 8:45 and 10:00pm sharp, or you're throwing the party at half energy. I build every Embassy Suites timeline backwards from that.

Inside is a different animal. The Anastasia Ballroom is 5,202 square feet of floor-to-ceiling window wall pointed at the Atlantic. It's Northeast Florida's only oceanview ballroom, and doors closed, the noise ordinance mostly stops being your problem. Between the ballroom, three event lawns, and the intimate Coquina Room, this is one of the few venues in St. Augustine that can hold a 30-person elopement or a 300-person reception without feeling like the wrong shoe. Packages start at $1,500. Live saxophone add-ons over the sound of waves at cocktail hour are the reason people book us here.

Brunch & Morning Weddings

Ceremony at 10am on the Sunrise Lawn, mimosas and eggs benedict on the Anastasia Terrace by 11, first dances before noon. Morning weddings are a different animal — guests are fully present, the beach is at its coolest, and the venue rates are usually lower before 3pm.

The music arc is inverted too. You build energy through late morning, peak the dance floor around noon, and hand the couple back the rest of their day. I've DJd this format at Embassy Suites and the pacing is genuinely different from a Saturday night reception. If a morning wedding is what you're planning, it's the right venue for it.

Why Embassy Suites Couples Book COS

The 10pm Curfew, Handled

Outdoor music has to be off by 10pm sharp — state law, not venue preference. Most DJs pace like it's a normal reception and get cut mid-song. We reverse-engineer the timeline: peak floor 8:45–10, last-song drop at 9:58, then indoor after-party in the ballroom if you booked one.

Anastasia Ballroom Sound Design

5,202 square feet, floor-to-ceiling window wall pointed at the ocean. Beautiful, and acoustically tricky — glass reflects, guests spread wide, and the room can eat vocals. We set up along the window line so the throw is even and toasts land in the back row. Not next to the DJ, in the back row.

Sunrise Lawn Ceremony Sound

Oceanfront ceremonies fight three things: wind, waves, and the guy walking his golden retriever behind your first kiss. We use directional wireless with a lav on the officiant, backup on the groom, and a subtle fill so grandma in row 12 hears vows over the surf. All aimed away from neighboring suites.

Live Saxophone Over the Waves

A single saxophonist on the Anastasia Terrace during cocktail hour, with the sun setting behind guests and the Atlantic in the background — that's the moment people remember. Our founder toured 35+ countries with Usher and Alicia Keys before starting COS. That's the musician playing your cocktail hour.

"Every single guest commented on the energy. The DJ read the room perfectly — and the saxophone during cocktail hour on the terrace was the moment everyone's still texting me about."

The resort opened in 2018 on the last major undeveloped stretch of St. Augustine Beach, and it won the Urban Land Institute's Hospitality & Entertainment Award for the region in 2021. What sets it apart from other Florida beach hotels: it's only three stories, no massive atrium, and the pool deck runs the length of the ocean side. The Anastasia Ballroom's window wall was designed specifically for weddings — sunrise ceremonies on the lawn, sunset dinners inside, with the same ocean in view either way. Ten minutes from downtown historic St. Augustine, which means your guests can do a walking tour of Castillo de San Marcos in the morning and be back at the pool by lunch.

Common Questions About Embassy Suites Weddings

Does COS Celebrations DJ at Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach?

Yes. COS Celebrations DJs weddings, brunch receptions, and rehearsal dinners at Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort. We know the Anastasia Ballroom acoustics, the Sunrise Lawn ceremony setup with its infinity-edge oceanfront view, and how to work the 10pm music curfew without killing the party early.

How much does a wedding DJ cost at Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach?

COS Celebrations packages at Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach start at $1,500 for a four-hour reception with DJ, MC, and premium sound. Most oceanfront weddings land between $2,000 and $3,000 once you add ceremony sound on the Sunrise or Oceanside Lawn, cocktail hour music on the Anastasia Terrace, and live saxophone for the first dance.

How do you handle the 10pm music curfew at Embassy Suites?

The 10pm outdoor music curfew is the single biggest planning quirk at Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach. We build your timeline backwards from it: peak dance songs land 8:45–10:00pm, not later, and the last-song build hits the drop right at curfew. Inside the Anastasia Ballroom the curfew is more flexible with doors closed, but we still plan the exit around it.

Can you DJ a brunch or morning wedding at Embassy Suites?

Yes. Morning and brunch weddings are a growing format at Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach — ceremony on the Sunrise Lawn, mimosas and brunch on the Anastasia Terrace, dancing wrapped up before the afternoon heat. The music arc is different than an evening reception: we build energy through late morning, peak the dance floor around noon, and hand you back the rest of the day. We've DJd this format at Embassy Suites.

Do you provide live saxophone at Embassy Suites weddings?

Yes. Live saxophone is one of our most-booked add-ons for oceanfront weddings. On the Sunrise Lawn during ceremony processional, or on the Anastasia Terrace during cocktail hour, a saxophonist over the sound of waves is a specific kind of moment. COS founder Corey Peterson toured 35+ countries with artists like Usher and Alicia Keys, and that musicianship now plays first dances and beach cocktail hours at Embassy Suites.

Where does the DJ set up at Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach?

It depends on the room. In the Anastasia Ballroom, we usually set up near the floor-to-ceiling window wall so guests get the ocean view behind us and the sound throws the length of the room. On outdoor lawns we use directional speakers pointed away from the surrounding suites to respect neighboring guests. We bring separate systems tuned for each space when a wedding uses both indoors and outdoors.
