That is the second sentence of his own About page, and we are quoting it because it tells you more about working with him than a list of camera bodies would. The man leads with the dog.

The rest of that page is short. He grew up in the wedding industry, more than ten years of it, and found the thing he actually wanted to do when he picked up a camera. Rene Visuals is a collective of creative visual artists based in Jacksonville, offering boutique photography and cinematography. He works cultural events, weddings, elopements, engagements, and destination weddings.

Then he says how he gets his results, which is the part we would underline.

Read that again and notice what it is not about. Not resolution, not drones, not a gear list. It is a claim about what he does to the room - and the room is the hard part. Anybody can buy the camera.

He tells you who he is for

His contact page does something we have not seen another wedding vendor do. Instead of promising to be right for everybody, he describes the couples he wants and then explicitly makes room for the ones he just described as not being his target:

We like that for a reason that has nothing to do with taste. A vendor who names their ideal couple is a vendor who has thought about fit at all, and fit is most of what goes wrong on a wedding day. The ones who say yes to everything are the ones who show up on a Saturday with no particular point of view and shoot the same day they shot last week.

He also frames the money honestly on that same page - a film or a photographer is, in his words, one of the best investments you will make in your lifetime, and he asks you to understand what a keepsake like that actually represents before you inquire. Collections have a published starting point on his site. Rates move, so get a current number from him rather than from us.

What he covers

Worth flagging clearly: Rene Visuals does photography as well as cinematography. That is a different shape of vendor than a video-only specialist, and it matters when you are deciding how many people you want in the room.

What a DJ notices about that approach

This is opinion rather than fact, so take it as such: the thing Pablo describes on his About page is the same problem we are solving from behind the booth all night.

People perform for a camera exactly the way they perform for a dance floor. Arms in the right place, smile switched on, waiting to be told what to do. Nothing real happens until they forget they are being watched, and getting a room to that point is a skill that has nothing to do with equipment. We spend the first hour of every reception working on it. A vendor whose stated method is to build a relaxed room first and shoot second is aiming at the same target we are, and days go smoother when the video person and the DJ are not pulling the room in opposite directions.

Rooms we have both worked

His portfolio runs through venues that turn up on our calendar constantly - Casa Marina out at the beach, Epping Forest and the Ribault Club in Jacksonville, Lightner and the Treasury down in St. Augustine. Different weddings, same rooms.

Where our own interests sit

We should say this plainly, because it would be easy to leave out. COS sells photo and video alongside the DJ, so every couple who books Pablo instead is revenue we did not take. We are recommending him anyway.

The reason is that a bundle and a boutique studio are answers to different questions. If you want one company handling music, photos and film on a single contract, ours is the simpler path and we will happily quote it. If the film is the piece you expect to still be watching in twenty years, and you want somebody whose whole business is built around interpreting one couple's story, that is a different purchase, and Pablo is who we would point at in Jacksonville.
