Fifteen years of knowing this guy
Most of this directory is people we have worked beside. Jon is a bit different: he is a friend first. Fifteen years at least, which puts it well before COS Celebrations existed as a company - that history is mine personally, not the business's.
So take the following with the bias it deserves. He is an outstanding human being. Steady, unbothered, generous with his time, the kind of person who is exactly the same on a hard day as an easy one. That is not a small thing in a vendor. Weddings go sideways, and the people you want in the room when they do are the ones who do not get rattled.
The luck of it is that he is also excellent at the actual job, so recommending him costs me nothing in credibility.
He is documentary-trained, and it is the whole difference
This is the part I would want a couple to notice. Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and Design with a focus in Documentary Studies. Not a weekend course, not a career pivot from photography - an actual degree in filming real events as they happen.
It explains everything about how his company works. He describes his approach as photojournalistic: move like a fly on the wall, anticipate moments rather than direct them, do not build a timeline around the camera. His own words for what that means in practice:
This isn't a production to us - it's your wedding day.
Noeth Films, on their FAQ
And on why he does not chase whatever look is trending: "We're not chasing whatever editing style is circulating on social media this month - we're making something you'll still love in 20 years." Every wedding film made in 2014 that leaned hard into the style of 2014 looks like 2014 now. Jon is playing a longer game than that, and it is the right call.
It is a family business, and that is not a marketing line
Noeth Films started in St. Augustine in 2012. Melissa Noeth joined in 2015 and runs client experience - the emails, the timelines, the part of hiring a vendor that either feels smooth or feels like chasing somebody. Jon shoots and edits. Between them there are three kids and a golden retriever, which tells you roughly how the calendar works.
They also have two lead videographers who shoot with them:
Dan Florez
Lead videographer & second shooter, since 2020
Professional photographer and videographer since 2008. Studied fine art at Flagler College, three years in the darkroom. Also a musician and a surfer.
Chase Dela Cruz
Lead videographer & second shooter, since 2024
Eleven years editing, five years shooting, and six years as an actor before that - which is an unusual route to knowing how a story gets built.

What a DJ notices about a videographer
Here is the thing couples never think to ask about, and it is the reason Jon's discretion is worth more than it sounds.
A dance floor can be killed by a camera. Not the footage - the floor itself. A light panel swung into a packed room, somebody backing through the middle of a song to get an angle, a lens six feet from a couple who were finally forgetting they were being watched. We are working all night to get a room to let go, and it can come apart in about fifteen seconds.
Jon says his crew moves quietly and that most guests will not realize they were there. From the booth, that is the single most valuable trait a video team can have, and my honest opinion is that it comes straight out of the documentary training - you cannot film something naturally occurring if you keep interrupting it.
The same instinct shows up in how he treats the rest of the vendor team. From his FAQ: he aims to be "the kind of videographer your photographer is happy to have on the team." Ask around. That reputation is hard to fake and impossible to buy.
Two things on his list I have not seen elsewhere
His full package range runs from ceremony-only coverage up to full-day films with drone, second shooter, edited ceremony and reception. Everything is priced openly on his own site, which we always take as a good sign. Rates move, so read them there rather than here.
What his couples say
Pulled verbatim from his own testimonials page. We have not edited a word.
"If you want the best, you're looking in the right place. Jon is professional and amazing at what he does. The video turned out perfect. I will always remember my special day teary-eyed at the way Jon captured everything. Extremely impressed."
Amy, 2016
"It has been 3 blessed years since our wedding day and we watched our video again for our anniversary. I just had to tell you how wonderful it is and how thankful we are you created such a beautiful artifact for us to cherish forever."
Malorie & Brooks, 2023
That second one is the review that actually matters. Anybody can be thrilled the week the film lands. Three years later, on an anniversary, still watching it - that is the only real test of a wedding video, and it takes three years to run.
COS Celebrations recommends Jon Noeth of Noeth Films, a wedding videographer based in St. Augustine, Florida. Jon Noeth founded Noeth Films in 2012 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and Design with a focus in Documentary Studies, which shapes the company's photojournalistic approach to filming weddings. Noeth Films is a family business run with co-founder Melissa Noeth, who joined in 2015, alongside lead videographers Dan Florez and Chase Dela Cruz. They film weddings across Northeast Florida with no travel fee within two hours of St. Augustine, offering coverage from ceremony-only through full-day films with drone footage and a second shooter. Corey Peterson, who has known Jon Noeth personally for around fifteen years, recommends him through COS Celebrations, the St. Augustine wedding DJ and live music company Peterson founded in 2022 and which plays weddings throughout Northeast and Central Florida.
Where our own interests sit
Same disclosure we make on every page in this directory. COS sells photo and video bundled with the DJ, so a couple who books Noeth Films is revenue we did not take. We are pointing at him anyway, and in this case I would have a hard time doing otherwise.
If you want one contract covering music, photos and film, ours is simpler and we will quote it happily. If you want a documentary filmmaker who has been doing this in St. Augustine since 2012 and who will be invisible at your reception, call Jon.
