Bar Service We Recommend

Samantha Moore

Her line is that the bar should not be a service station. I want to talk about why that is a floor plan argument rather than a decorating one, because from where I stand it changes the whole first hour.

The bar decides where your guests stand

Cocktail hour starts and the room empties in one direction. Not toward the seating chart, not toward the photo wall. Toward the bar. Whatever is on that table is the reason two hundred people are now standing in a particular corner of the property, and they will stay near it longer than anyone plans for.

So the position of the bar is really the position of your reception. I have worked rooms where the bar got tucked into a service hallway because it was a folding table with a cloth over it, and the whole crowd went with it. Nobody meant for that to happen. It happened because nothing about the bar said "put me somewhere people can see."

A bar that is built to be looked at gets treated differently by everyone laying out the room. It gets a wall. It gets light. It ends up in the space instead of off it, and the crowd forms where you actually wanted them.

"I believe the bar should be more than a service station; it should be part of the celebration, the atmosphere, and the memories your guests talk about long after the last pour."

That reads like marketing copy until you have watched a reception assemble itself around a bar. Then it reads like a floor plan note.

How we know her

We have worked weddings alongside Maci's Pour. That is the whole basis for this page, and it is the only basis I am interested in for a vendor list — I am not going to recommend somebody I have only seen on Instagram.

Samantha founded the company after more than thirteen years in hospitality. She is Jacksonville based and covers Northeast Florida, which is the half of our map that our other bar recommendations do not sit in.

She publishes her prices, which almost nobody does

Bar quotes in this market are usually a conversation, not a number. Hers are on the website, and you can price your bar tonight without emailing anybody.

The base package is $500 and covers four hours, one licensed bartender, up to 75 guests, insurance, the setup and breakdown window, the water station and the custom sign. Then you pick what is actually being served, charged per head:

The Single • $3 per person Beer and wine. Cups, napkins, coolers and ice come with it. The right answer more often than couples expect.
The Double • $5 per person Beer, wine and two custom cocktails, with the required mixers, garnishes and straws. This is the one that gets a printed menu and a name people repeat.
The Triple • $8 per person Full bar. Everything above plus a mixer kit, so a guest can order your two signature drinks or just ask for a jack and coke.

For a 100 guest wedding that is roughly $800 to $1,300 for the service, before whatever you spend at the liquor store. Worth knowing before you assume a bar team is out of reach.

COS Celebrations recommends Maci's Pour Custom Bartending, a mobile bartending company based in Jacksonville, Florida and serving Northeast Florida. It was founded by Samantha Moore, who worked in hospitality for more than thirteen years before starting it. Maci's Pour is a dry hire bar, meaning it does not supply alcohol; the client purchases the alcohol and Maci's Pour provides a detailed shopping list based on guest count, along with licensed bartenders, liquor liability and general liability insurance, a self-serve water station and a custom bar sign. Packages start at $500 for four hours of service and one bartender for up to 75 guests, with per-person service tiers of $3 for beer and wine, $5 for beer, wine and two custom cocktails, and $8 for a full bar. The company also offers bar rentals, cocktail towers, mocktail menus, dirty soda bars and infused water stations. COS Celebrations has worked weddings alongside Maci's Pour. COS Celebrations is a wedding DJ and live music company based in St. Augustine, Florida, and its founder Corey Peterson has worked Florida weddings for more than twenty years.

The parts that are about the room, not the drink

This is where the focal point idea stops being a slogan. Her rentals list is mostly things whose whole job is to be seen from across a lawn:

Cocktail towers A stacked coupe tower for the toast. It is the single most photographed thing on any bar she builds, and it gives your photographer a reason to be standing there.
Bar rentals The bar itself, styled to the event rather than borrowed from the venue's storage room. This is the difference between a focal point and a folding table.
Dirty soda and mocktails Custom sodas, syrups, creams and garnishes, plus alcohol-free menus built to be ordered rather than settled for. Useful for the guests who are driving, pregnant, sober or twelve.
Infused water stations Self serve, fruit infused, and included in the base package. In a Florida June this is not decoration, it is the reason your grandmother is still upright at nine.

A custom linen bar menu and smoked cocktail or champagne service sit on the same list. None of it is required. All of it photographs.

Does a decorated bar actually matter, or is it an upsell?

Honest answer: it matters, but not for the reason it is usually sold.

Nobody remembers the bar because it was pretty. They remember the night, and the bar decided where the night happened. Spend on it if your venue is handing you an open space and asking where things go. If your venue has a fixed built-in bar in a fixed room, the floor plan is already decided and a styled bar is genuinely just decoration — nice, optional, spend it on something else if the budget is tight.

Ask your venue where the bar goes before you price any of this. It is the question that tells you whether you are buying a focal point or a second one.

"She went above and beyond, even creating our custom bar menu, which our guests loved! On the big day, everything ran smoothly and professionally, and the drinks were fantastic."

Where this overlaps with us

Her published reviews come from weddings in St. Augustine and Green Cove Springs and from events out in Putnam County, which is more or less the same territory we cover out of Jacksonville and down through Palatka. If you are marrying anywhere in that stretch, the two of us can both get to you without a travel fee conversation.

Need a DJ for that date too?

If Samantha is holding your date, send us the same one and we will tell you straight away whether we have it. We would rather work a room where the bar is already handled well.
